@daksh96 You still have the opportunity at any age. You must devote the time to practice. You may think that your neural plasticity is lost still, but that is an old way of thinking. Research has shown that we can increase neural plasticity. One of the best ways is to increase your acetylcholine levels. There are a number of ways to do this through supplementation and diet. It has even been shown that blackberries enhance neural plasticity.

@RedSarcov "10x15=150 and a grade 2 would not know." i knew the answer in pre-school. though i know that is rare, for me numbers and history were my childhood obsessions. but by high school i could do 4 digits by 4 with no problems either.

@daksh96 hmm, I'm a typical American child, and I have a masters degree in electrical engineering from one of the best schools in the world at 21. I enjoyed the hell out of my childhood, going to a public school, having fun and getting into trouble whenever I could. If the "majority of our children end up working at McDonalds", then McDonalds must be employing 40 million people, eh?

@kyrib These things that you say are all typical to an American child. Maybe that's why the majority of our children end up working at McDonalds. Truth is, if you wish to have success in life, you must start preparing from the beginning. Think about it: childhood lasts 10-12 years max. If you waste your life in these years, you'll be suffering as an adult for 70 years+. The numbers show which is better! I envy the opportunity these kids have to reach their potential.
